CDTFA is hosting a Tax Auditor Hiring Event on March 27-28 in our Irvine Field Office. Event participants will have the opportunity to learn about current job openings, receive in-person guidance on the State hiring process, complete the Tax Auditor exam, and apply for the Tax Auditor vacancies. Eligible candidates will be invited to interview onsite and may receive conditional job offers during this two-day event.

Position(s) will be located within the following in-state field offices: Cerritos, Culver City (currently operating out of the Cerritos Office), Glendale, Irvine, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, Bakersfield, or Diamond Bar based on the location of the selected candidate.
The Tax Auditor conducts the least to moderately difficult field audits, and fraud/tax evasion audits. The Tax Auditor audits accounts, attends basic tax law and audit training classes, makes audit appointments, meets with taxpayers and their representatives, explains the audit findings, assists in identifying interrelated fraud schemes, may testify in court to liabilities determined, and prepares appropriate audit reports and written correspondence to taxpayers.
Travel may be required up to 50% of the time, which may include overnight.
