Job Title: Parks Specialized Recreation – Camp Counselor Temporary
Salary: $17.63

You will work at Specialized Recreation Camps for individuals with disabilities. By maintaining a clean, safe, and inclusive environment, you will assist the camp director with daily activities, preparation, organization, supervision, and cleanup of all program equipment.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assist campers with daily camp activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the camp director or recreation coordinator.
- Required to drive a 12-passenger minibus and provide DOL driving abstract.

- Assist Coordinator & staff with planning, preparing, implementing, and leading programs and activities

- Assist participants with daily tasks onsite and within the community.

Job Title: Parks Camp Counselor Temporary – Deep Roots Day Camp

As a Camp Counselor staff, you will provide an engaging, fun, and safe environment for our campers to grow in. You will be responsible for the supervision of camper groups, leading them through their daily schedule, along with the facilitation or assisting in the facilitation of camp activities.

- Lead and supervise a group of campers throughout the camp day.
- Engage all campers in a positive way.
- Facilitate assigned activities throughout the camp day.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive environment throughout each activity and within camp.
- Assist during communal times such as check-in, check-out, snack, and lunch.
- Assist with organization and cleanup of all program equipment.

Pierce County Parks is accepting applications for a temporary (extra-hire) job opening for several Room Monitors at the Frontier County Park, Cross Park and Meridian Habitat facilities. You will set up and take down for events and tables and chairs for rentals, supervise groups in attendance, and complete paperwork after functions.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
- Point of contact for groups renting/using the facility.
- Work with household type cleaning products.
- Make sure facility is safe for all in attendance.
- Customer service.
- Work within the policies and procedures of the facility.
Qualifications: Parks Specialized Recreation – Camp Counselor Temporary
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Active participation in recreation programming.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work or volunteer experience with vulnerable populations such as children, elderly, individuals with disabilities, etc.
- Previous or current participation in recreational programming.
- Ability to problem solve, work with the public in a tactful manner, and possess organizational skills while remaining flexible.
- Ability to exercise mature judgment to ensure safety and enjoyment by program participants; lead both large and small group activities; maintain effective working relationships with staff, parents, and volunteers; follow written and oral directions.
Qualifications: Parks Specialized Recreation Lead – Temporary
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Active participation in recreation programming
- Work or volunteer experience with individuals with disabilities in a recreation setting.
- Ability to drive or learn to drive a 12 passenger mini-bus, and provide a current DOL driving abstract
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with children in a recreational setting.
- Ability to work in a physically active, high-energy environment for 8 hours daily.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Qualifications Parks Room Monitor – Temporary
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
