Business Innovation Internship
The Role
The Saint-Gobain Innovation team is on the search for an intern in a business-related field – MBA, Marketing or Product Management to support us through the summer months.
You will be part of the Innovation development team who are trusted business partners helping to transform the way we innovate throughout Saint-Gobain. We are a central team created recently within the organization of the Chief Innovation Officer, with strong ties to marketing & R&D. The team works on methodologies and support countries and business units to address their innovation challenges. The scope of our work varies from strategy workshops to business modeling, customer empathy/insights as well as testing and learning from business innovation experiments.
We are looking for candidates with strong analytical skills, critical thinking and a curiosity for business challenges leaning towards construction, industrial markets or sustainability topics. As a plus, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from a diverse distributed team supporting businesses locally and internationally.
Essential Functions
During your internship, you will be a full member of our Innovation Development team learning from experts across various functions.
You will work as part of a small, local team and own your own workstream. Depending on the timing of arrival, this can include:
- Market analysis and research
- Statistical or financial modelling
- Customer analysis and interviews
You will contribute to some of the ID team projects, and learn from shared experiences of other interns on initiatives such as:
- Updating our innovation tools and training portfolio
- Contribute to developing a solution that will support business teams at being more successful at innovation.
Finally, you will support the team in preparing and facilitating workshops for our business customers:
- During those workshops, we guide teams about how to apply the appropriate tools &methodology to help them solve their target innovation challenge, whereas it is related to a project, innovation strategy or culture of innovation.
- Typical workshops help teams clarify and align on: Value proposition, new business models, project portfolio management, innovation opportunities within market segments, etc.
Requirements
Ideally you will be currently studying a business, or innovation course (MBA preferred), therefore exposure to some of these competences are appreciated:
- Business innovation methodologies (lean start-up; design thinking; business model generation; etc.)
- Workshop facilitation skills
- Market segmentation and analysis
- Business/investment preparation
- New business development
- Financial literacy a plus
Desired Attributes:
- You have a clear interest for innovation and want to get involved in many different innovations related projects.
- You have good organizational and communication skills
- Openness and willingness to use collaboration tools such as MIRO
- Natural curiosity, creativity, and customer orientation
Language
- A good level of French is a welcome advantage
