Aquia Harbour is a gated rustic country club community of 2,300 homes off I-95 in Stafford County. It is quietly nestled on 2,000 acres of wooded rolling terrain just south of Quantico, Virginia, along historic Aquia Creek providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and onto the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. We are located less than 40 miles from Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg, and 70 miles north of Richmond.
The Harbour is governed by a Board President and six Directors, all of whom are elected at-large and serve staggered three-year terms. The Board adopts an annual budget, sets policies, and appoints a General Manager responsible for supervising and coordinating Harbour operations. The Harbour maintains a dedicated staff of 35 employees, including the General Manager, that provide for amenities, maintenance, police services, and various administrative and financial services. Aquia Harbour has a fiscal year 2022 budget of just over $4.8 million.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, engineering, business administration, finance, or a related field and five years of responsible administrative management experience in a comparable organization or local government. Certified Manager of Community Associations and Professional Community Association Manager is desired. An equivalent combination of education and management experience will be considered.
Successful candidates will demonstrate strategic leadership, a passion for building community and quality of life, strong financial management skills, effective management of contracts or agreements, project management experience and a demonstrated ability to cultivate effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, residents, community stakeholders, and staff.
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $100,000 – $125,000, based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. Aquia Harbour provides a competitive benefits package. An employment agreement is available. Residency is not required.
