Department of Transportation – Electrical Engineering Technician III
Monthly Salary: $5,268 – $6,592
Provides technical support to maintenance personnel to maintain the control systems in the district. Work with team members, field maintenance staff and contractors to troubleshoot various field electrical and electronic controls and power devices. Build and configure various SCADA backup windows servers. Troubleshoot and correct issues with the SCADA network devices including routers, switches, workstations, and servers. Identify control failures for circuit breakers, Fog Horn systems, Fans and Damper systems, VFDs, Emergency Signal Sings, call boxes, and Power Supply (UPS) systems. Incumbent is responsible for inspecting various field facilities and recommending projects to upgrade or modify existing systems and facilities.

Two years of experience performing the duties of an Electrical Engineering Technician II in the California state service.
Broad and extensive (more than five years) drafting and design experience in an engineering office (two years of which may be specification writing only), three years of which must have been electrical or electronic drafting and design experience equivalent in responsibility to an Electrical Engineering Technician II in the California state service. and
Equivalent to completion of a two-year terminal curriculum in electrical or electronics technology at a community college, or completion of the sophomore year of a professional electrical or electronic engineering college or university curriculum.
