The Customer Service Representative I / Banking position earns a competitive wage of $16.41 to $17.41/hour, depending on experience, plus a salary differential for bilingual (English/Spanish) skills. As a Customer Service Representative I / Banking, you proactively educate members on Credit Union products and service using product knowledge and rapport dialogue. Applying knowledge and complying with all Credit Union regulations, systems, bylaws, policies, and procedures, you process new accounts, account closures, CD renewals and other account maintenance. Using good interpersonal and cross-selling skills, you effectively communicate how the available account types benefit members/applicants and assist them in the selection of the most appropriate one for their needs, recognizing and generating cross-sell opportunities for Credit Union growth and retention. With customer service and banking experience, you provide quality member service via mail, phone, email, fax, and other channels.
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum two years of customer service experience, cross-selling experience, PC/Windows-based software experience with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets and be available to work Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm; Friday, 8:30am to 6:30pm; Saturday (rotating), 8:45am to 1:30pm (flexible 40 hours per week). A minimum one year of banking experience, Credit Union and IRA knowledge, MS Word and Excel, and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are all preferred.
