Job Summary / Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Pulling the required information from Structural and Architectural design drawings, and with the assistance of computer software SDS/2 you will be tasked with creating structural steel shop prints for our fabrication shop, along with field erection plans for our Ironworker crews.
· The main duties will be drawing structural steel framing for retail and commercial buildings. However, the ability to also draw miscellaneous stairs, rails, and ladders would be preferred.
· Coordinate job requirements with Project Managers, other Subcontractors, architects, & structural engineers as needed.
· Be able to check shop drawings for both dimensional accuracy and design conformance.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty reliably:
· 2+ years of experience drawing structural steel shop prints for fabrication and erection
· Ability to work full-time in our Olmsted Falls, Ohio office
· Utilize SDS/2 3-D modeling software, training is available if the candidate’s experience was on alternate software
· Strong math skills, especially geometry and trigonometry are needed
· Knowledge of industry standards- AISC manual, Code of Std Practice, Spec, AWS symbols, and proper application of all the aforementioned
· Knowledge of construction means and methods; procedures for shop and field applications
· Detail-oriented, accountable, and responsible
· Communication: capacity to listen versus react, write/speak concisely, remain calm in stressful situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000 – $65,000 / year
