There is currently one (1) full-time vacancy in the County Administrator’s Office for an Administrative Services Officer – Confidential. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancy and any future vacancies for open, fixed-term, full-time or part-time positions that may occur in this assignment while the list remains active. Eligible lists remain active for a minimum of six (6) months.
This position will oversee and implement business operations for the County Administrator’s Office, which consists of several divisions: Management and Budget; Communications; Equity; Risk Management; and Facilities.
The Administrative Services Officer will provide work direction and/or supervision to the administrative team and will develop and manage the team to ensure efficient and consistent department-wide operations. Responsibilities may include budget development and management for the County Administrator’s Office, financial administration and reporting, revenue allocations, purchasing, contract administration, personnel and payroll administration, policies, procedures, contracts, special projects and staff reports to the Board of Supervisors. Additionally, incumbents facilitate and support the work of departmental management, providing resources for organizational, managerial, and operational analyses and studies.

In addition, the successful candidate can adapt to changing priorities, exhibits a high attention to detail, and has experience working with ERP financial accounting systems and statistical reporting systems.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills listed in the class specification. Typically, equivalent to graduation from a four year college or university with major course work in business or public administration, accounting, economics or a field related to the work and two years of accounting, budgetary, fiscal reporting and related administrative support experience which included one year in a lead role. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year for year basis.
