Under the direction of the Technology Systems Coordinator and in coordination with HHS Finance department, the Technology Systems Specialist III (TSSIII) will provide technical and analytic support to Behavioral Health & Recovery Services (BHRS) fiscal functions. This support includes using SQL and other reporting/database skills to create, run and maintain reports on and validation of complex datasets. This position will develop, test and document business requirements/workflows relevant to claiming, cost reporting and other core fiscal functions. In addition, this position will serve as liaison between fiscal staff and the vendor of the practice management software to elevate and track troubleshooting/bug tickets and enhancement requests.
Our highly qualified candidate will have experience providing technical support to mental health, substance use and/or general healthcare operations and datasets, including configuring/administering a practice management system/electronic health record. The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding self-management skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to define business needs and coordinate solution possibilities and works well independently and in teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the use of SQL programming for the analysis, validation, and reconciliation of complex datasets. The successful candidate will, also possess the ability to quickly generate effective and accurate routine and ad hoc reports. In addition, our highly qualified candidate will have expert knowledge and ability with reporting tools such as SSRS, SSIS, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and other analytics tools.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE: Experience supporting mental health, substance use services, or physical healthcare billing. Knowledge of medical billing, medical finance activities, or health care operations in an information technology capacity. Aptitude with TSQL and Business Analysis activities. Knowledge of State Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs billing practices and familiarity with Medicare and Medi-Cal claims reporting is also highly desirable.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge and skills listed. Typically, the equivalent of completion of two years of college level or technical training in computer science or a closely related field AND three years performing network and/or personal computer user support.
Experience in PC repair, network administration, application and software troubleshooting, computer operations, or a substantially similar field may be substituted for the college requirement on a year for year basis.
