An Air Quality Inspector I is responsible for inspecting air pollution sources to ensure compliance with SDAPCD rules, EPA laws, and State of California laws. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form, ability to be customer-focused and teamwork-oriented, and possess the drive to excel.
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, biology or a closely related scientific field; OR;
2. Four (4) years of paid professional, para-professional, or technical work experience with a regulatory agency, environmental agency, environmental consulting company, or other closely related agency, company, or organization; OR;
3. An equivalent combination of college education and/or experience as stated above.
