Job Title: Athletics, Health and Wellness Instructor
Reports To: Principal
The Athletics, Health and Wellness Instructor directs the Interscholastic Sports and Physical Education programming of Cristo Rey New York High School and collaborates with other staff for the sake of improving the overall wellness of our students.
Ø Recruits and supervises coaches for all interscholastic teams, maintains membership in and is primary liaison with league(s), assists coaches with scheduling and securing locations to practice and play, assures that players meet health requirements to compete;
Ø Designs and schedules physical education program in collaboration with Principal, maintains relationships with outside venues/providers of PE programming and seeks out new opportunities for students to exercise and increase understanding of their health and wellness;
Ø Identifies and secures the use of facilities for athletics and physical education programs;
Ø Instructs and supervises student physical education classes for Grades 9-12, assesses student participation and growth, serves as a member of the faculty;
Ø Participates actively in Cristo Rey Network (CRN) programming, collaborates with CRN peers;
Ø In all efforts, advocates for the well-being of the students and fosters the mission of the school.
Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.
Proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not required.
