General Description:
The Business Research Intern oversees a team of Seasonal Business Development Interns and manages sponsor and grant research initiatives from outreach to proposal development.
This is an unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, business research, and professional communication. Interns gain practical leadership experience, direct mentorship, and portfolio ready grant materials while contributing to national initiatives. All work is completed remotely from your dorm or home. Applicants should have strong communication skills and an interest in research, fundraising, business development, or nonprofit strategy. Direct experience is not a necessary qualification for applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate on team projects and deadlines
Identify and research potential sponsors and grant opportunities
Define attributes of ideal sponsors and funding sources
Draft letters of inquiry and grant proposals
Analyze and present findings to leadership
Attend quarterly Steering Committee meetings
Learning Outcomes:
Apply best practices in business and grant research
Develop persuasive grant proposals and sponsorship materials
Strengthen leadership and project management skills
Conduct and present strategic funding research

Expectations:
Identify 3+ new grant or sponsorship opportunities
Develop 1+ grant proposal or letter of inquiry
Attend at least 75% of weekly meetings
Respond to emails in a timely manner
Meet deadlines and maintain brand consistency
