Public Information Social Media Officer
Salary: $78,492.00 – $100,176.00 Annually
Location: Hemet Police Department

The Hemet Police Department is seeking a Public Information Social Media Officer. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a well-established understanding of the methods and techniques used in public relations and community outreach related to general law enforcement functions, issues and operations. Incumbent to this position will possess excellent writing skills including proper use of grammar, spelling and punctuation and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff at all levels of the organization and will maintain a high level of customer service while interacting with governmental agencies, community groups, media and the general public.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in communications, public administration, public relations, marketing or a closely related field; or three (3) years of responsible public information, marketing and public relations in the public sector. Ability to demonstrate a broad knowledge of all aspects of the development and production of public information materials, effective public speaking, and the regulatory standards governing the field, preferably within a public safety or similar public service environment; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Possession of an appropriate, valid Class C California Driver’s License, and maintains a satisfactory driving record.
