Sales Application EngineerJob DescriptionKoehler Instrument Company, Inc. a leading manufacturer of petroleum testing equipment and instrumentation is interested in hiring a Sales Application Engineer.The Position Will Require:• A technical background in Science or Engineering with a specialization or experience in business or sales. A background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering is a plus. • However, a candidate with a business background will also be considered if they have laboratory experience in the Oil and Gas / Energy Industry or other Scientific / Technical Industry. • It would also be beneficial if the candidate has experience with ASTM International or with other industrial society organizations such as ACS, etc.The candidate must exhibit strong written and oral communications skills as the position will require constant communication between different departments within the organization as well as with customers and distributors. The Sales Application Engineer will provide technical sales support to customers and distributors. Answering technical questions, determining product compliance to standard methods and specifications, and providing recommendations of our products for customers specific applications will be a key function of the position. Technical writing skills must be exceptional as generating documents such as technical datasheets, brochures, and operation manuals for our product line will be required. It will also be required to learn and understand the entire product line and be able to conduct product demonstrations and training on the products. The sales engineer will be responsible for the CRM website chat function and be able to answer any and all questions from customers directly. Project Management, effective multitasking, and prioritizing are essential time management skills that the candidate will need to exhibit on a daily basis.The position will require moderate travel (when travel restrictions are lifted) to ASTM International meetings and other technical industry conferences throughout the year (3x-4x per year). The candidate must be personable with the openness and desire to meet and network with other industry professionals in a conference setting.
