Weekend Shift (7am – 6pm) – flexible

Overview

The P/T Cook will prepare food for patients and staff as scheduled according to posted menus and the use of standardized recipes in compliance with accepted sanitation and safety practices. Following physician’s orders, prepare special diets for patients who have special dietary needs. Organize and plan food pre-preparation for the following day. Actively coordinate special diet needs of patients with nursing staff. Ensure proper sanitation of all equipment used in food preparation and storage by completing daily cleaning schedules of equipment and storage areas in compliance with sanitation and safety regulations. This includes such things as break down and cleans up of steam table salad bar and serving area, operate and break down/clean dish machine and dish room, sanitize dishware, and clean and organize kitchen and dining room. Follow weekly cleaning schedule including such things as cleaning food and storage racks, oven shelving, cooler and cooler floors, and containers in cooler. Maintain and inventory food and supplies and accurately check in food and supply deliveries. Store leftovers properly by wrapping, dating and identifying.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in quantity food preparation.
  • Ability to read and follow production book and diet sheet.
