Basic Function:Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Continuous Improvement, supports countywide improvement in curriculum, assessment, instruction, professional learning, academic coaching and standards implementation by providing resources facilitation and coordination functions. Provides guidance and support to local school districts, especially in the areas of California State Standards implementation and District/school improvement.Salary$358.40 – $522.16 per day as per Range A1 of the Certificated Other salary schedule.Work Hours/Year8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 220 days per year beginning July 1, 2021, pending successful fingerprint clearance and submission of recent tuberculosis test as required by the California Education Code.ADDITIONAL $2,000 BONUS OPPORTUNITY:If upon hire the selected candidate holds a Special Education credential, they will qualify for an additional $2,000 bonus.The $2,000 bonus will be in the form of a loan that will be gradually forgiven over two years of service. Details of the process as follows:Once the selected employee provides one year of satisfactory service, MCOE will retire 50% ($1,000) of the debt and the employee shall have no obligation to repay said amount of money loaned by MCOE.Once the selected employee provides two years of satisfactory service, MCOE will retire 100% ($2,000) of the debt and the employee shall have no obligation to repay any of the $2,000 amount loaned by MCOE.Qualifying credentials include:Education Specialist – Mild/ModerateEducation Specialist – Moderate/SevereSchool PsychologistEarly Childhood Special EducationSpeech Language PathologyTeacher, Deaf, Hard of HearingTeacher, Visually ImpairmentTeacher, Orthopedically ImpairedMinimum Qualifications:·      Five (5) years of classroom teaching experience including two (2) years of leadership at the school or district level in the development and implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, or evaluation;·      Valid California Teaching Credential or equivalent including an EL authorization (ex: CLAD; BCLAD [Spanish preferred]); Credentials from out of the State of California will be evaluated to determine appropriate fulfillment of requirements; ·      Administrative Credential or be in the process of obtaining an Administrative Credential or Pupil Personnel Services desirable;·      Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License;·      Provide proof of automobile insurability;·      Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance.Application ProcessTo be considered for this position, the candidate must submit:·      An online application;·      A cover letter addressing specific competencies for the position;·      A resume with clearly described education and employment background, including dates of employment at each organization, and compensation history;·      Three (3) current (within the last year) letters of recommendation;·      A copy of required Degree or Credential(s) and transcripts. Participation in this plan is mandatory for employees working 28 plus hours a week. Benefits are optional for part-time employees working 17.5 – 27.99 hours per week. Employee will be a member of the State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS) and may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union.
