The Business Administration department at Mills College is pleased to announce an opportunity for an instructor to teach two courses in Management and Organizational Development during the spring 2021 semester. Our business degree programs are distinguished by their focus on equity and justice, by the rich diversity of backgrounds and experiences our students bring, and by our small size which fosters a sense of community among students, faculty, and staff.
The person in this position would teach two courses:
MGMT 101 People & Organizations. This 3-credit course is required for Business Administration majors and minors and is open to all Mills undergraduates. This course is scheduled for Thursday afternoons from 1-3:30pm.
MGMT 234 Management & Organizational Development. This 3-credit course is required for MBA students and is an elective for graduate students in the Master of Management, MPP/MBA, and MBA/MA in Educational Leadership programs. This course is scheduled for Thursday evenings from 7-9:30pm.
The spring 2021 semester begins on January 20 and final exams end on May 14. Modality for spring courses depends on public health guidance. If courses are all online it is expected that course delivery will be primarily synchronous at the time slot scheduled for the course.
For faculty new to Mills, compensation is $6,000 per course without a terminal degree and $6,500 per course with a terminal degree. Adjunct compensation is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement and increases with seniority at Mills College.
Minimum qualifications are a Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Management, or a related field. Doctorate and higher education teaching experience are preferred.
This is an exempt, part-time position. The compensation includes state-mandated benefits including Social Security, State Disability Insurance, Workers’ Compensation Insurance, Unemployment Insurance and Sick Day accrual. Employees also receive free admission to campus events, use of the pool, fitness center, and tennis courts.
