Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the associate director plays a central leadership role in the efficient and effective management of the recruitment team and processes. The Associate Director will keep current with emerging best practices in enrollment management, concentrating in admissions and recruitment initiatives. The associate director will have highly developed collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within all areas of admissions to assist develop and implement recruitment plans. Beyond Admissions, the associate director will connect frequently with partner colleagues within the Divisions of Enrollment Management/Student Affairs, as well as collaborating with the colleges in the service of reaching university goals. The associate director will demonstrate strong analytical skills and an understanding of the importance of using data to make decisions is critical. The associate director will leverage the skillsets and capacity of the admissions team to develop and implement strategic recruiting initiatives. Outstanding leadership and supervisory skills are required. The associate director must be a collaborative team player while also able to work independently.
The associate director supervises and supports the day-to-day operations and manages a highly engaged team of staff, consisting of six to nine full time admissions representatives, and five to ten student workers. This position will facilitate organizational development and change in the office and will work closely the other Associate Director. The associate director is responsible for the daily operations of the recruitment office and making sure all staff are knowledgeable and kept up to date on all processes, policies, and procedures. The associate director will work with the team to analyze specific recruiting strategies necessary to locate the best qualified students in the area, consistent with the goals of the University. The recruiting strategies developed by the associate director and admissions representatives will require an understanding of the University’s commitment to increasing the number of high ability students and under-represented populations on the UNO campus. The associate director will be responsible for the execution of a recruitment strategy consisting of: overseeing the communication plan, reviewing and revising recruitment territories, supervise the planning and execution of recruiting events, lead data collection/analysis efforts, and create actionable goals and plans to meet institutional recruitment and enrollment goals. Support the overall goals of the Admissions Office and the Division of Enrollment Management with other duties related to admissions operations as assigned.
· Bachelor’s degree
· Minimum two years of progressive professional experience in the area of higher education
· Valid driver’s license.
