GRADUATE ASSISTANT – UNO Weitz CEC Centennial Fellow
Community Engagement Center
The Centennial Fellow helps support the Academic Community Engagement functions of UNO. In this role, the fellow provides support for the Community Engaged Scholars Transcript Designation (CESTD) as well as limited support to the UNO Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center. The Fellow reports to the director of the CEC and indirectly supports the executive committee of the CESTD as well as the Manager of Possibilities of the CEC. In all aspects of their role, the Fellow acts as ambassadors for the mission and engagement goals and strategies of UNO;
advocates the importance and role of engagement in higher education; and supports campus initiatives that combine engagement with the other core values of sustainability, inclusion and academic excellence.
The fellow’s primary job duties include:
o Supporting the day to day operations of the CESTD, which includes communicating with potential and current Engaged Scholars, managing the CESTD Canvas site, coordinating the activities of CESTD executive committee members, and troubleshooting.
o Assisting with the marketing of the CESTD to an array of campus and community audiences, including public presentations.
Supporting CEC programming and events with the Manager of Possibilities.
o. Working with CEC staff and Manager of Possibilities to increase engagement between students, community members, campus and the CEC.
20 hour per week
Must be admitted to a graduate program at UNO.
