Parking and Transit Operations
This is an administrative position for the University Parking Services Department. Position provides customer service for front counter. Some customer interactions present conflict situations, this position is responsible for handling these conflict situations as they arise. Position answers parking questions from incoming calls on main phone line or direct phone calls to appropriate coworkers. Distributes departmental mail within building and responds to emails. Position provides the best parking options available for internal and external customers. Provides alternative and sustainable transportation options and explain UNO shuttle services.
The incumbent must possess a full understanding of the parking rules and regulations as well as campus demographics of parking lot locations and building locations to provide explanations as to why parking violations were issued. Position processes paperwork for vehicles that are towed off campus or have been booted.
Position assists with the appeals process and works directly with Parking Manager to maintain appeal statuses files. Verbally explain appeals process to customers disputing parking violations. Position maintains registered ADA permit files and paperwork for customers needing parking accommodations on campus.
Position assists with DMV process of affiliating vehicles to appropriate University accounts or placing field notes for enforcement staff if unable to affiliate. Position communicates with enforcement staff daily via a two way radio and assists enforcement staff with affiliation checks and regulation questions. Assists with training of new office staff in similar position. Performs opening and closing procedures of office/building. Position also responsible for permit sales, collection of money for permit fees, parking violations, boot fees, cash drawer reconciliation, data entry, filing, processing citation waivers, and assists with other administrative tasks and projects as necessary.
· High School Education or equivalent
· One year general clerical experience
· One year cash handling experience
· One year customer service experience
Salary Information: $15/hour
