The Petersen Automotive Museum seeks an intern to assist the Education Department in expanding its Virtual School Tour program. The Education Intern will learn about automotive history and design and use that knowledge to help enhance our visitors’ experience by providing valuable interpretation of and a deeper connection to the content presented in the exhibits. The Education Intern will conduct a research project looking at the history and social impact of transportation in their choice of a major metropolitan area outside of California. The Education intern would review K-12 state curriculum standards for the visual arts and sciences to guide their project. Their work would form the basis of a virtual school tour module aimed at that city, increasing the reach of our distance-learning program. In the event of a return to onsite work, the Education Intern would be taught informal museum teaching techniques by assisting with on-site programming, including working in the Rob and Melani Walton Discovery Center, our family
