Middle-to-high school youth and adults from all over the East Coast spend a week of their summer in Roanoke, VA at REACH’s Summer Service Camp, where they discover the joy of serving others and learn of their own value and self-worth by participating in positive acts of service.
Summer staff, such as Camp Counselors and Summer Interns, play a vital role in leading REACH’s campers, or REACHers. Responsibilities may include modeling servant leadership, caring for campers, and participating in daily camp activities as they go out to serve in the community.
Summer Internships and Camp Counselor Positions run from June through early-August (~May 27 to August 5). Room and board is provided.
Must be 18 or older, and been out of high school for at least 12 months.
Must be willing to work long hours.
Must have the ability to be flexible, energetic, positive, and open-minded.
Summer employees will be given a base honorarium and may request for aid in securing additional funding. REACH welcomes any and all collaboration between its employees and their respective college or university. Staff members frequently request to receive credit for classes and volunteer hours through their schools.
