Scripps Research is currently seeking a Lab Assistant II for its Florida facility in the laboratory of Dr. Ben Shen.
POSITION TITLE: Lab Assistant II
General lab support including basic biochemical analyses; plasmid, tissue, or gel prep; spectrometry. Glassware washing; autoclaving; media, solution, and buffer prep; replenishes supplies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- will be expected to perform routine scientific tasks related to microbial natural products in an academic laboratory setting.
- will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to revive, grow, and harvest various bacteria, isolate genomic DNA, and other routine tasks including operating standard lab equipment of moderate complexity, data recording, and performing other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience, or an Associate’s of Science degree and a minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
Commensurate with experience.
