ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:The first three weeks of the internship will focus on the Center’s Five Days of Broadway Summer Camp. Five Days of Broadway is a five day long intensive where students are introduced to musical theater technique and other aspects of the performing arts by some of the industry’s leading professional artists and educators. The program includes two, five-day sessions – one for junior high students and one for high school students.The final four weeks of the internship will focus on the Summer at the Center program. Entering its 30th year, Summer at the Center has been designed to empower high-risk high school students through active participation in a rigorous two-week program of musical theatre classes conducted by professional artists. Summer at the Center is a collaboration between Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Education Department and the Orange County Department of Education.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties and responsibilities will include prepping and organizing camp materials, setting up and sanitizing classrooms, checking students in and out, monitoring classes and lunches, setting up and serving meals, and other administrative duties as may be assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Seeking an enthusiastic individual who wants to learn about arts administration and arts education. Must have a positive attitude, love working with young people and be able to learn and adapt quickly.
