The Apprenticeship Program Manager is responsible for insuring that the apprenticeship system in Washington State is in compliance with Federal Department of Labor regulations specific to apprenticeships systems.
In this role, you will manage a program of twelve staff members who will work together and determine the best methods for improving existing apprenticeship systems, expanding the apprenticeship model into new occupations, ensuring that all programs operate within the parameters of their standards and the rules and laws that govern apprenticeship. You will also be responsible for coordinating efforts with other governmental agencies at various levels to best provide services and support for the apprenticeship model.
You will be empowered to conduct educational/awareness programs to promote the benefits of apprenticeship and training, to assist in training on best practices for inclusion of women and minorities in apprenticeship programs, and for working closely with stakeholder groups in the implementation and development of regulatory improvement. This position will also develop new and emerging apprenticeship programs. Must possess the ability to express ideas and information using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience.
