Updates drawings, specifications and other file documents of District facilities. Gathers, reviews and verifies information obtained from on-site inspections, District personnel, sketches, schematics, field notes, record drawings and other supporting documents. Utilizes various measuring devices including measuring tapes and wheels, level, transit, etc.
Maintains various filing systems; performs necessary blue printing and reprographics. May work with architects, engineers and other consultants to the District.
Education/Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:
Two (2) years of responsible drafting experience in an architectural or engineering office or construction company preparing working construction drawings and other documents, of which one (1) year included the utilization of a computer-aided design system.
Knowledge of: Building systems including architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical; terminology and symbols utilized in computer-aided design; Autocad software and related drafting systems.
Skill at: Reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings and other construction documents; operating computer-aided design systems; interpreting building materials substances; skill at accurately identifying building materials and systems, measuring and locating those improvements, and recording same.
