Interns will be placed on a team and dive into social media campaigns using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. They will create their own posts and analyze their results. Interns will need to think outside the box to make insurance relatable to people. After training, there will be two main assignments to report every week: 1) Study WeCare’s educational resources; 2) Individual tasks assigned from the previous meeting.
This is an education-focused unpaid internship. Our learning objectives are understanding the business side of social media and being able to run social media campaigns on multiple platforms. By the end of the semester, interns will be able to think like social media marketers and both express their message and engage with others through social media. Interns will be expected to use WeCare resources and secondary sources to fulfill assignments each week, using the weekly meetings for training, walk-throughs, and collaboration. Here is the orientation slide show containing an outline of what interns will learn over the semester: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1GEaItU2weqwEd8YKMg3vKIHHk7eOg9zrU1ItnKHMPAo/edit?usp=sharing
We are looking for internet marketing majors and those wanting a career in marketing. People that are go-getters, creative, self-driven, and always trying to learn are perfect for this position. Your supervisor and mentor is Chris Cook. He is an entrepreneur and throughout his career has been developing a content marketing strategy that will be shared with you throughout the internship. At the end of the internship, you will be given an evaluation to better prepare you for your career.
We expect 10 hours per week. After that, we are flexible with hours to fulfill internship requirements. There will be at least one meeting a week with the supervisor. At the beginning of the semester, interns will be given an internship handbook (Google Classroom) to learn from and use as a resource throughout the internship. We will also have an orientation meeting going over expectations and teaching how interns can fulfill their position. Interns may work together to complete assignments and projects.
This is a remote-based internship which means that meetings and work will have no definitive location or office hours. Instead, we will find a time to meet on a weekly basis to discuss learnings and assignments. We will use Discord for text communication and video calls.
