Keep this list handy for the next step —it contains the raw ingredients for your bullet points.
2. Write Bullet Points Using This Formula
Use this formula to build daily tasks into impactful bullet Points
Strong action verb + description of activity + end result / purpose
Why it works
Verb ➜ grabs attention | Activity ➜ clarifies what you did | Result/Purpose ➜ shows the value you delivered. Quantifying the result (%, $, hours, people, etc.) makes it even more compelling.
Example bullet points:
Action Verb | Activity Description | End Result, Purpose, or Outcome |
Coordinated | a grassroots marketing campaign | that increased student use of career services by 12% |
Produced | an equitable work from home policy | boosting employee satisfaction to 98% |
Organized | a company-wide retreat | ensuring an inclusive experience for a diverse staff of 250 |
No numbers? State the purpose: “…to give first-year students easier access to tutoring resources.”
