On-Campus Employment through Redland’s Work-Study Program

Most on-campus jobs for undergraduate students are part of the University of Redlands Work-Study program and managed by the Student Employment Office, not by the Office of Career & Professional Development (OCPD).

How do I know if I’m eligible to work on campus through the Work-Study Program?

To qualify, you must be a full-time undergraduate student (enrolled in at least 12 units) and have received a Work-Study award as part of your financial aid package. Awards are determined by Student Financial Services based on demonstrated financial need; once approved, you can work up to 10 hours per week in on-campus roles.

Questions about your Work-Study award?

Questions about your work-study eligibility or work-award amount? Contact Student Financial Services (SFS) at sfs@redlands.edu or 909-748-8047, or visit their page for details on financial-aid policies and forms.

Non-Work-Study Roles Open to All Students

While most on-campus jobs are part of the Work-Study program, there are several jobs on campus that students without a Work-Study award can apply for:

Additional Notes

  • Peer Tutors – Paid either through work-study or course credit. Learn more here
  • Bulldog Ambassadors – All ambassador positions require work-study.
  • Appeal for Work Study – Students who are not currently eligible for work-study can make an appeal to receive it by emailing Student Financial Services (SFS), but approval is based on financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Due to limited funding and job availability, most appeals are denied unless a student demonstrates significant financial need. Some students who were awarded work-study choose not to use it, allowing others on the waitlist to appeal for an award. Priority is given to those with the greatest need, but exceptions may be made for students with in-demand skills or flexible availability. Occasionally, unfilled positions remain open due to location or scheduling challenges.
