Scholarships | Students of Color

There’s free money out there, but you’ll have to ask for it. Take advantage of various scholarships. Below are a few select scholarships we recommend. Know of any others we should include? Let us know!

San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Excellence in Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is available thanks to the generous support of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. To qualify–

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student at the University of Redlands
  • Demonstrate a commitment and connection to a Native community through leadership and advocacy
  • Plan to contribute valuable efforts and participation to Native communities after graduation
  • Hold a CIB or Affiliation of Ancestry

 

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

The Udall Scholarship awards those for their “leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment.” To qualify–

  • Sophomore or Junior enrolled in an undergraduate program
  • Complete an 11-question application
  • Provide an 800-word essay related to the Udall Foundation’s core values
  • Transcripts for all college coursework
  • Three letters of recommendation about your leadership and achievements
  • Further documentation is required for applicants in tribal public policy and health care, and for U.S. permanent residents

 

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

The HSF Scholar program is available for incoming students to an undergraduate or graduate program. To qualify–

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA recipient
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA for high school students; minimum 2.5 GPA for college and graduate students
  • Provide FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms, if applicable
