Essential Functions
The NCITE Workforce Development Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the project personnel in a pathways coordinator role. The GA will play a pivotal role in facilitating opportunities for business students to explore and secure careers and internships within the Homeland Security Enterprise. This position involves database management, establishing connections with governmental agencies and local organizations offering internship and career opportunities, promoting relevant student opportunities through various channels, and actively engaging with students to identify and match them with suitable opportunities.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter and be able to lead others. The individual will be very detail-oriented and as a result, be able to anticipate issues before they arise and come up with solutions to those issues. The individual will also need strong communication skills to coordinate schedules among project personnel and communicate project successes to key stakeholders.

Additional Duties
Primary Duties:
- Update and manage a comprehensive database for students seeking internships or careers within the Homeland Security Enterprise
- Develop and maintain relationships with governmental agencies and local organizations offering homeland security opportunities
- Market internship and career opportunities to students through various channels
- Familiarize students with the USAJOBS website and provide guidance on utilizing the platform effectively for job searches and applications
Additional Duties:
- Assist with webpage development projects, planning, preparing and researching information for projects. Comfortable presenting to external constituents.
Required Qualifications
Must be admitted and enrolled in a UNO graduate degree program with the UNO College of Business Administration. Maintain good academic standing with a minimum of 3.00 GPA within the program, and at least 18 years of age. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and a desire to work with new software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with all levels of people in a professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Qualifications: Upon hiring, must complete IRB Training and CITI Certification (required to work with human subjects for research), UNO Webpage training, creating short videos, and project management training. (All training completed at UNO at no cost to student).
